“I Expected Rest. I Experienced Transformation.”

What can you do if you find yourself grateful, fulfilled, and aligned with your calling — and still deeply exhausted? Jayme, a recent Oasis guest, put it into words beautifully in a LinkedIn post after her retreat. She gave us permission to share her testimony, and we believe it speaks to what so many leaders are quietly carrying and the transformation you also can experience.

“There are seasons when you love what you do… and you’re still exhausted.

As someone who pours into leaders and high performers for a living — and who also serves in ministry through my church — I recently found myself in a space of deep fatigue.

Not burnout from lack of passion. Not resentment. But a quiet kind of exhaustion that comes from consistently pouring out.

I was grateful. Fulfilled. Aligned with my calling.

And still tired in a way I couldn’t quite pinpoint.

A dear friend, Heather Trumpfheller, referred me to Oasis Rest International, an organization dedicated to ministering to those who serve in ministry leadership. I reached out — and it became one of the most impactful decisions of this season.

I spent a week in the mountains with two incredible hosts, Candice and Jon Row, who guided me through a deeply intentional debriefing process.

What I expected was rest.

What I experienced was transformation.

This wasn’t just unplugging. It was being seen. Being shepherded. Being poured into by people who understand the weight and beauty of ministry leadership.

In spaces where I don’t often allow myself full vulnerability, I was able to do meaningful work — healing work.

The kind that strengthens not just the leader, but the person underneath the leadership.

Everything about Oasis Rest is biblically grounded and thoughtfully designed to restore those who are faithfully serving others. They create space for ministry leaders to receive — so they can continue walking out what the Lord has called them to do with clarity, health, and renewed strength.

I am incredibly grateful — not just for the rest, but for the testimony that continues to unfold in my life through experiences like this.

Heather, thank you for the referral. Candice and Jon, thank you for stewarding that week with such care. Oasis Rest, thank you for living out what you stand for.

If you are a ministry leader who has been pouring out more than you’ve been poured into, I cannot recommend this experience enough.

Sometimes strength looks like stepping away long enough to be restored.”
